#Ethiopia | የቅዱስ ጳውሎስ ሆስፒታል ሚሊኒየም ሕክምና ኮሌጅ ማኔጅመንት ቦርድ ሰኔ 9 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም ባካሄደው ስብሰባ ለዶክተር ሰለሞን አሊ የሙሉ ፕሮፌሰርነት ማዕረግ መስጠቱን አስታውቋል።
ኮሌጁ የባለሙያውን ሰነዶችና የስራ አፈፃፀም በዝርዝር ከገመገመ በኋላ ይህንን ከፍተኛ የትምህርት ማዕረግ አፅድቆላቸዋል።
ፕሮፌሰር ሰለሞን አሊ በህክምና ምርምርና በማይክሮባዮሎጂ ዘርፍ በስፋት የሚታወቁ አንጋፋ ስፔሻሊስት ናቸው።
የምርምር ስራዎቻቸውም በዋናነት በተላላፊ በሽታዎች፣ በፀረ ጀርም መድኃኒቶች መላመድ እንዲሁም አዲስና ዳግም በሚቀሰቀሱ የቫይረስ አይነቶች ላይ ያተኮሩ ናቸው።
ፕሮፌሰሩ ባለፉት 20 ዓመታት በቅዱስ ጳውሎስ ሆስፒታል ሚሊኒየም ሕክምና ኮሌጅና በጅማ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ውስጥ በመምህርነት፣ በምርምርና በሕክምና አገልግሎት አገራቸውን በቅንነት ያገለገሉ ዓለም አቀፍ ተሞክሮ ያላቸው ምሁር ናቸው።
በማስተማር ስራቸውም በርካታ የሕክምና፣ የጤና ሳይንስ፣ የማይክሮባዮሎጂና የክሊኒካል ሬዚደንት የቅድመና ድህረ ምረቃ ተማሪዎችን አፍርተዋል።
እስካሁንም በዓለም አቀፍ ደረጃ እውቅና ባላቸው የምርምር መጽሔቶች ላይ 56 የምርምር ውጤቶችን ያሳተሙ ሲሆን ስድስት ታላላቅ ዓለም አቀፍ የትብብር የምርምር ፈንዶችንም ማሸነፍ ችለዋል።
በተጨማሪም ፕሮፌሰር ሰለሞን አሊ የሀገሪቱን የምርምርና የማይክሮባዮሎጂ አገልግሎት መሠረተ ልማት ለማጠናከር ከፍተኛ ሚና ተጫውተዋል።
በዚህም በቅዱስ ጳውሎስ ሆስፒታል ሚሊኒየም ሕክምና ኮሌጅ የመጀመሪያውን የጤና ምርምር መጽሔት፣ ዘመናዊ የተላላፊ በሽታዎች የዘረመል ምርምር ላቦራቶሪ፣ ለቀጣይ ጥናቶች የሚሆኑ ናሙናዎችን ለረጅም ጊዜ ማቆያ ማዕከልና የማይክሮባዮሎጂ መረጃዎችን በዲጂታል መንገድ የማደራጃ ሥርዓት መስርተዋል።
ፕሮፌሰር ሰለሞን አሊ በጤናው ዘርፍ ላበረከቱት የላቀ ሙያዊ አስተዋፅኦ በቅርቡ ከጤና ሚኒስቴር የ2018 ዓ.ም የብሔራዊ እውቅና ሽልማት መበርከቱ ይታወሳል።

After carefully reviewing her academic, clinical, research, and service achievements, the Board endorsed his promotion in recognition of his outstanding contributions to medical education, research, and institutional leadership
Professor Solomon Ali is a distinguished microbiologist and medical research specialist whose work focuses on infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and emerging/reemerging viral pathogens.
He has served his country for over 20 years at St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC) and Jimma University (JU), contributing extensively to academic, clinical, and research activities.
Professor Solomon has trained, mentored, and supervised undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD students, guiding numerous research theses. Throughout his academic and research career, he has published more than 56 articles in reputable international journals and has secured six major competitive international research grants. Prof. Solomon has also played a pivotal role in strengthening research and health service infrastructures.
He has established Millennium Journal of Health, the first scholarly journal in SPHMMC, Infectious Diseases Research and Molecular Laboratory (IDReaM Lab) with integrated bio-banking system, and digitalizing hospital microbiology service laboratory data management system through a DHIS2 based platform.
Recently, Prof. Solomon Ali received national recognition from the Federal Ministry of Health of Ethiopia as the recipient of the 2026 Award for outstanding professional contribution in the health sector.
